I am assuming with the C&L intake manifold, C&L Race CAI, ported heads and radical cams, I should get a TB to max out the flow rates.
What the hell am I looking for?
I want to keep the stock size and shape so the C&L Race CAI will fit with no mods. So, I am guessing a single or double blade would be ok, but what size is right for the setup? Brand recommendations would be cool too.

How soon do you want to do this? You're welcome to take my GT500 TB, adaptor and C&L racer inlet tube and give it all a shot before you buy. Mine's not going on for a while.

Chad, I'll be spending March just working on how well the delete plates and new tune affect my times. By then, the C&L manifold is likely to be here. I'll pull the plates and install the manifold, retune, and spend April racing it to get numbers. THEN, I'll put on the racer inlet and TB. I just like doing things step by step--it's part of the fun for me.

I might take you up on that.
I don't know when I am going to do this. It depends on when the intake manifold becomes available. I think I am getting the heads and cams on 03/07. I would like to add the CAI and TB when I do the head install.
I know...still kinda vague.

Bottom line -
With your mods the stock TB is more than good enough. Even in FI application, if it's a blow through system, the stock TB is up to the task.
Where after market and larger TB's come into play is on suck through set-ups that need the bigger TB to prevent restriction.
No way is any N/A 4.6 platform motor ever going push enough to make the stock TB a restriction IMO.

I have been wondering that myself. I have seen some people making really big power on the stocker. Even if I measure a 2-3 HP increase, on any given day, that could be due to weather, engine temp, or even the quality of fuel in the tank at the time.
Small "gains" of 1-3 hp here or there are not going to make a big difference for me. Even if I could milk 10-12 hp collectively from a bunch of small mods, at my ET and weight class, I think it would not be seen in my ET's
After talking to a bunch of people about this, the cost and aggrivation basicly stopped me from doing it anywhy.

Agreed... Im just looking to see if it can help; it is a cheap and easy experiment, even if it helps .05 and maybe 1mph that is HUGE for us n/a guys. Anything else is severe weight reduction not conducent to daily driving, or changing to auto/transbrake/stall (see above), ...
Granted, it may be trivial... cheap and easy and maybe, just maybe...
I'll get a custom grind cam when I do bottom end, but, until that down time... I'll take whatever I can get; kinduv what alot of us are doing.
FWIW... A straw from Sonic is nice, but one of those McDonald's hoses is much better:p
