I think just one, NA. Art is sitting on 12.0, so he should be there this spring. I've still got to drop 4 more tenths, but I think half that is fixing the upper RPM "feels like I'm driving through molasses" issue, and the other half getting my 60fts down from 1.65 to low 1.6s, high 1.5s. I've been talking a bit with Doug at Bamachips, and the upper rpm gains on the C&L manifold are very, very promising. I've got one preordered and paid for at least...

Give you guys an update on the testing and tuning on the Big Bore setup. This is a 302 CI build. The difference between my old stock shortblock setup is as follows:

302 CI
11.1 Comp
Anderson N-73 cams, specs very similiar to Comps VSR stage III
27.0 x 10.5 MT ET Street vs ET Drags
Added 70LBs. Race weight is now 3650 with driver.

Today with the ET Streets at South Georgia Motorsports Park I completed 4 runs:

1.61 60'
11.61 @ 118.98

2nd pass missed 2nd...couldn't make this up if I tried!

1.62 60'
11.66 @ 118.79 (strong race with a nitroused LS2 Goat, he beat me to the lights with an 11.49 @121)

1.57 60'
11.59 @ 118.55

Feel comfortable with the power output, getting used to the ET Streets and the launch. ET Drags might have netted an ET in the 40's, but I have to get used to the Streets for the NMRA season.

Now to address the weight with the seats, bumper supports, etc. Guys, have any of you completed the fuel canister removal off the rear of the car? I would like to remove the weight, just ensure I do it right.

BTW, great site, keep up the great work. Look forward to shaking some hands come November.

Those are great times. I envy you southerners and the open tracks. We're hoping the weather holds here in MD next weekend when Mason Dixon Dragway opens for the season. I've been debating going to an ET Street with my 15" Bogarts, which I bought used before Christmas. Two seasons ago I pulled a 1.59 60ft but man I hated the wobble at the top end. I remember that with my Roadrunner back in the late 70s.

Do you have more info on the 302 build anywhere?

John

I have a local friend that was able to remove the emission stuff from the back. He dropped about 30 lbs., but he lives in a county that doesn't have emissions inspection. All the BS he went through stopping leaks and getting the car tuned doesn't seem worth the weight savings.

You will not have any wobble since you are running skinnies on the front. Make sure they have 40+ PSI in them and you can run any bias ply tire you want on the rear without any wobble.

Nice runs with that 302. I am suprised you see any difference in traction with the ET Street vs the ET Drag. I ran both on my Cobra and was able to 60 foot in the 1.49 range with both. I did run tubes in the Et Streets which seemed to help.

That's good to know. Do I really need to use tubes though or can I get away without them?

You don't have to use them. Many don't because of the added weight.

Ah.. But you southerners get to run all year round, our tracks close down for winter.. It's a trade off

We are aware of this work. Richard has provided us with a patch and we are evaluating this. It is likely not to be included in the RC, not that we dont like it, but because we are closing down on RC and dont want to add major changes.

We are not conclusive on this one, as said we are evaluating this one atm.
