All, just a quick heads up!!!

We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn at 105 Brucewood Road Southern Pines, NC 28387. We got a suite with 2 bed rooms (with king and queen beds), full kitchen and dinning room, living room with a fireplace, 2 bathrooms and 3 tv's for $109 a night. Plus it was all in great shape. There was a pool, hot tub, b-ball court, etc. I felt like I was robbing the place it was so cheap. LOL

So we going to hang at the Country Inn?

That's where I'm headed... the images online look very nice.

I am going to visit the hotel ahead of time (maybe in the next 30 days) to make sure this will meet our needs (along with some other event business). I can give you a heads-up when I get a look at it...

I was thinking of doing the same. Leave Friday, check out a few of the hotels in Rockingham, come back Sunday. Make a nice road trip, watch the races Saturday night.

Marc,
With your recent trip to Rockingham, can you tell us what Hotels are good, bad and the ugly?

Can we get a group rate at a closer hotel? and confrence room for large gatherings..

Well the hotel we originally booked group rates for (Country Heath Inn) was a complete failure.

I visited 5 major hotels and the 2 that I would recommend are the Marriott Residence Inn located in Aberdeen and Comfort Suites in Rockingham. They are both very nice hotels. The one in Aberdeen has a lot more main stream city life vs Rockingham is a business district with nothing to do. I stayed at the Marriott. I liked it the best.

So, Marriott Residence Inn first, Comfort Suites second. I am trying to get the group rate for Marriott this week I am expecting 1 bedroom suites to be $89 and 2 bedroom suites to be $109.
